Enbridge Energy: Pipeline
Repair
Thatcher Foundations was
contacted in 2008 to provide and install 50 trench feet of PZ 27 sheeting
and bracing for a pipeline repair project. Thatcher provided in-house
design-build services for the project.
Access to the site was
difficult, due to its wetlands location. Thatcher's equipment was placed on
crane mats to minimize the impact on the soil and grasses. The project
utilized temporary sheeting, which was installed and removed. The sheeting
can be re-used on future projects, eliminating waste and the presence of a
foreign body in the earth.
Despite the soft footing,
Thatcher completed this project incident-free, with over 600 safe manhours.
